Moreno reached base after being hit by a pitch.
Alison Stymacher had a sacrifice bunt to set up the game-winning hit for Rio Mesa (6-1, 1-0).

While most of the community's attention has been directed toward the girls' basketball team's playoff games, the BHHS baseball team began its season earlier this month with three wins in the Arcadia Elks Club's tournament.
The Normans' season officially began with a 10-5 win over El Monte, followed by a 5-4 loss to Alhambra.
Beverly Hills rebounded with two straight wins over Hoover (7-3) and Temple City (9-7).

A milestone-setting season just got better for the Agoura High girls' basketball team.
Brittany Oster, who led Agoura to a 30-win season, the program's first league championship and the Division III-AA runner-up, was selected as the player of the year for the 2010 Ventura County girls' basketball team.
Oster averaged 15.9 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 3.4 steals per game.

Rio Mesa High set a county record and moved to the top of the national leaderboard in the boys' 4x100-meter relay Saturday at the Ventura Track and Field Invitational.
Ventura's first invitational meet in 21 years produced a number of notable performances.
